I started as a healer, and then I went into medicine.
As a Black, 1st generation Colombian American woman, I have had to
navigate landscapes in educational, medical, coaching, and non-profit
establishments that were not built with me in mind.
Being a leader in this world often means giving up a piece of ourselves, whether that be time, sleep, or in many cases, our identity, and values. This is compounded by us being the “only” in the spaces we occupy and feeling the need to fit a model of “good” or “professional” which is based on white dominant culture.
I am passionate about coaching leaders in medicine, healthcare,
advocacy, research, and education to successfully navigate environments
with daily macroaggressions and tokenization, to maintain their identity an
environment where we are the “only.”
I give clients the resources that I wish I had received during my own educational and career development.
My lived experience as a first-generation Black daughter, patient, learner, activist, leader, gives me the expertise to meet clients where they are.
My experience in the academic, non-profit, advocacy, consulting, and international sectors gives me the expertise to work with those who are in a new phase of career transition.
Outside of empowering and coaching others, I love hiking, swimming, traveling, food made with love, and nature.
